The good ol' days

Some days I miss being a kid. Here are a few memories I have with childhood.

1. We made up this game called "hut hut". Basically all of us kids would go under a blanket and walk around saying, "hut hut hut hut". My brothers always put me in the front because we would run into things and fall down the stairs. We had wide imaginations.

2. Every time we had a babysitter come over we would put a ton of pillows and blankets under the balcony and jump over. No wonder our babysitters hated us.

3. Tyson and I used to play street hockey with these kids named Mikey and Brock. Mikey didn't like that a girl was playing so one time he hit me upside the face with his hockey stick and gave me a bloody nose.

4. Mikey also hit me with a shovel and cracked open my arm.

5. One time we got in huge trouble so my parents said we were getting woopin's with the belt when we got home from California. Tyson and I were playing Cowboys and Indians. Tyson was only wearing his boyscout bandana as his "loin cloth". Sadly, he was also wearing it when it came time for the belt. Enough said.

I miss childhood.

Corningware

It is these little beauties that make my world go round.

Every Mormon woman has to have at least a few pieces of Corningware. A casserole one, the smaller casserole one (because sometimes you're just eating for two), mugs, and the tiny corningware dish with the lid. There is something about Corningware that makes a small Sunday get-together with friends so much.... classier.

So the reason I say this is because I have a small story. The mugs (pictured at top) are a little gift Drew and I received for our wedding. For months we argued over whether to take them back or not. I tried returning them to every store but nobody would take them back. So finally I gave in and let Drew have them (which by the way I have never seen a grown man so happy). He started using them for EVERYTHING! My brother even sent him a Colombia drink called Panela and Drew would use the corningware cups because he thought they were sophisticated or something. Anyways, a few weeks ago all of the other dishes were dirty and I wanted to make homemade salad dressing. I used the mug. I have to say that these are the best mugs I have ever used. In fact, I use them for everything now. I use them for making dressings, drinking water, drinking cocoa, and even hiding candy. I would suggest that everyone invest in Corningware.

FFW'd

I just have to make it known. I fast-forward many scenes in many movies. Maybe it's because i'm impatient... I don't know. I do know that I always ffw the scene "Let's go to the movies" in Annie, and "Beauty School Dropout" in Grease. Who knows why, maybe it's a weird obsession.
