2011 Wrap-Up

So many crazy things have happened this year. Here are some highlights.

January: Started my last semester of my associates degree.

February: Found out I was pregnant in Las Vegas while my parents were on a cruise!

March: We lost our sweet Grandpa Starbuck.
Tyson got engaged to his high school sweetheart.

April: Celebrated our 1 year anniversary.

May: Found out we were having a baby GIRL!

June: Tyson married his high school sweetheart, Melissa Groom.
July: Drew studied...and studied.... and studied for the LSAT.

August: Drew left for his Marine Combat Training.

September: 'Nuff said.

October: went to Provo so that Grace could meet the Williams family.
November: Grace had her baby blessing in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend.

December: Drew tragically lost his step-mom.
We spent Christmas with Drew's family in Gresham.

As you can see, it was an eventful year. We were blessed greatly this year as we experienced many trials. The one thing that has always been constant is the gospel and our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we have applied the Atonement in our little family we have had great happiness.

3 Months Old!

I learned to bounce in my bouncer.

I smile and laugh more than ever.

I know when I'm in trouble!

I am becoming a Daddy's girl. Mommy is very sad about this!

I have to know EVERYTHING that is going on!

Words cannot express the love that we have for this little ray of sunshine. She is the happiest baby I have ever seen. She smiles at everyone and wants to know what is going on. I have always said that she has such an old soul and I really believe that. She has so many stories inside that little spirit of hers. Here are some things that Grace does at 3 months.

  • Laughs and giggles
  • does little baby crunches (it's hilarious)
  • holds her own bottle (most of the time)
  • kicks and splashes in the bath
  • talks (with noises)
  • bites her hands constantly
  • still sticks her tongue out
  • won't eat if there is anything else going on. She has to know everything going on at all times.
  • covers her lips with her hands when Drew won't stop kissing her. (seriously, what 3 month old do you know who is that smart?!)
  • whines if she isn't getting 100% attention.
  • hates being tickled.
  • sits in her Bumbo and plays with toys.

Christmas Season

Not a huge Santa fan.

Singing Christmas songs. She was actually making noises it was adorable.

Cracking Daddy's back.

Great-Grandpa Lodi

Loving Uncle Zeph

Great Grandma TuTu

We had such a great time in Gresham with Drew's family for Christmas. It was my first Christmas away from home but Drew's family made me feel like I was right at home. We were able to do a lot of things we don't ever do like go out to dinner almost every night and go shopping! It was awesome. We also got to talk to Nick (Drew's brother) who is on his mission in Taiwan. He will be home in April and we could not be more excited. He was a good friend to me when Drew and I were dating and we get along very well. I am also SO excited that we got an "Elf on the Shelf". So excited to start that new tradition.

Family Pictures

Family Pictures. The worst day of the year, but a necessary one. This year I was in a reallllly bad mood on picture day. Grace had just gotten out of the hospital and it was freezing cold and windy outside. She was also super hungry and kept pooping all through pictures. Thankfully we got some really good shots.

Grace's Blessing

Grandma and Grandpa Childs

Great-Great Grandma Woolsey, Great-Grandma Jones, Grandma Williams, Mommy, Grace.

Grace's blessing day was so wonderful. We were surrounded by friends, family, and good food. Drew gave a beautiful blessing despite how nervous he was. The other men standing in the circle included: Grandpa Childs, Grandpa Williams, Great-Grandpa Jones, Uncle Tyson, Great-Uncle Mike, Great-Uncle Will, and President Moody.

Cute girl!

I love when she sits in her boppy and looks around the room with WIDE eyes.

She hates tummy time. Finally a picture where she isn't screaming during it.

I have officially become a mom that's obsessed with my baby. I love her more everyday. She is such a little sweetheart.

6 weeks old- Little Smiler.

My favorite time is when she first wakes up. She smiles and laughs at us.

So tired but still so happy.

Mid- laugh.

This little girl is the happiest little thing! She does so many sweet things. Here are a few of the highlights from the past 6 weeks:

  • coo's
  • grunt's
  • smiles
  • laughs
  • kicks her legs when she's happy
  • blows bubbles
I also took her to her 6 week check up. She is 21 1/2 inches long (50 percentile) and 9.6 lbs (25 percentile). She brings such a sweet spirit into our house. I am so lucky to be her mom.

"GO AWAY MOM!"

Still love to stick out my tongue.

About to be mad.

Officially ticked.

Finally some peace and quiet.

Grace meets the Williams Family!

Uncle Tyson

It was so crazy to see Jesse, Jordan, and Dustin after their missions. I was just graduating high school when they left on their missions and now I'm married with a baby! Crazy! They were so sweet with Grace and they all looked so happy. It was great to see them.

Aunt Lexi

Grandpa singing her songs. She was so mesmerized by her Grandpa.

Aunt Haylee

This picture is one of my favorites. We arrived in Provo around 2:oo am. Right when we got there everyone woke up to see Grace. We put her right on my Dad's chest and she smiled so big for nearly 30 seconds. It was like she knew him and they were being reunited. So sweet.

Aunt Melissa

Uncle Josh

Uncle Zach

Grandma. Grace still recognized her grandma's voice from the second my mom started talking. She must have remembered her. She loves her grandma.

We really had the best weekend with our family. It was so fun to see how our family is growing so fast. With Tyson now married and Grace coming into our family; it is an exciting time. It is so wonderful that we get to be with these crazy people for eternity. Melissa and Drew fit so well it's like they have always been part of the family. I can't even imagine what the family would be like without Grace. It's amazing how this new generation has started. What joy and happiness we have knowing that we get to live together forever.
